These DIY Backyard Games are fun for the whole family!
Summer is meant for being outside and we love to host a good cookout! We are blessed to live in a neighborhood with so many kids around Reed’s age. That means we play host to a bunch of the fellow neighbor kids. I usually just let them run around in the yard and play on the swing set. But how much fun would it be to come up with something a little different for them?
What are some of your favorite outdoor backyard games? I remember playing croquet and badminton as a kid. But the idea of taking indoor games, outdoors, really appeals to me. Using everyday sponges for a water fight instead of water balloons? Genius! Some of these games can be made with scrap wood left over in the garage. Others will take some planning but I’m sure it will make your next cookout a hit.

What other games for the backyard can you come up with? Have you seen that Hungry Hungry Hippo video with real people? I wish I could think of a safe way to do that outside. And I’ve always wanted to make a slip and slide baseball diamond. Or even kickball with slip and slides! Can you imagine the fun that would be?! I will have to drag Reed in the house kicking and screaming…
